I guess you can say I am on a Fitz & Floyd obsession lately. There is something about how well-painted and detailed these off-the-wall creatures look so real. So well done they almost come to life in your imagination. Their homewares/porcelains come in many themes, from fine china to Hand-painted Hippos reading "Hippo-crates". A breadth of beauty and humor, if not something that will make you smile every time you see it smiling back at you. That's what really makes these items so special, isn't it? It's all for the smiles

This hippo guy is missing his partner in crime but he is cute enough for the both of them. Mr. Hippo is sitting reading his oh so ironic novel "HIPPO CRACY. And those teeth, and little ears... Even the beautiful pink shade that he is painted makes him so inviting. He can be used for his original purpose, to bring smiles and display him some where to show off his quirky 'tude, or go for the bookend route. He is sturdy and padded on the bottom, so he may be able to lean a couple books against his back (proceed with caution), especially if you have a wall to support them from the other side.

A multifaceted hippo bookend display piece!
