Vintage Framed Trapunto of Canadian Geese in Flight
This is a stunning vintage framed trapunto (stuffing technique used in quilting) of Canadian geese in flight. The four geese in the foreground are stuffed and have a 3D effect.
The trapunto is framed in its original wooden frame. (frame has some surface scratches and light wear due to age) Trapunto – meaning “to quilt” in Italian - is a technique used to add another dimension to a quilt. It is also known as a “stuffing technique” and has been around since the 14th century.
This vintage Americana folk art is presumed to date to the 1950’s, and is in great vintage condition. Wire on back for hanging.
